Vintage Petals Tea House High Tea

Treat yourself with one of our special high teas that consist of tea, scone, assorted sandwiches, and dessert. The many different types of high or afternoon tea combinations make it a pleasant day trip to Morinville, just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert.

The most challenging part of the visit will be the process of choosing which tea to order from our selection of over 100 loose teas. Our gourmet apple cinnamon scones have a buttermilk base, light and tender texture with melt in your mouth flavour served with butter, jam, and a side of in season fruit.

What is a High Tea?

The original meaning of High Tea came from the type of table that was used not the type of class structure. The working class and sometimes the upper class had an evening meal at the main dining table (high table). It consisted of about four to five courses. There might be soup, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, bread and butter, scones, and dessert. Nowadays, the High Tea has a totally different connotation. It is considered high society to have High Tea.

At Vintage Petals Tea House, we invite all our guests to be high society and join us for High Tea.

We serve four types of assorted sandwiches on an elegant tiered plate at High Tea.  The selections may include:

  • Delicate dill cucumber on a mini croissant
  • Salmon cream cheese on a sliced baguette
  • Apple cheddar raisin on a mini bagel
  • Traditional egg salad with in-house blend on white
  • Slices of tortilla wrap with chicken, tomato pesto, and leaf lettuce
  • Black forest ham dressed with grained mustard on health-wise flax bread
  • Triangles of margarita pizza on Greek pitas.
  • Sandwiches dealing with dietary concerns can be addressed if enough advance notice is given.
  • Desserts are specially chosen to compliment our high tea presentation.
